Sweet SaxMusic from my heart, truly as sweet as the title suggests. Lay back, light a candle, draw a bath, and relax… |
|
Sweet Sax is actually my 6th CD. Not only did Kokopeli, Desert Dreams and Desert Mystery come before it, but I also did a couple of CDs before that that never saw the light of day (one was called Hiroko’s Garden, the other slips my mind).
Sweet Sax, like the collections before it, is music that I composed and recorded by myself in my home studio, music that comes straight from my heart. Sweet Sax is a descriptive title, in that the music is saxophone-based, of course, and it has a very sweet quality to it throughout. I have described it many times as “Calgon music,” in other words, light a candle, draw a bath, lay back and relax. I’ve also described it as “Sunday morning with a latte and the New York Times” music. Take a listen, you’ll see what I mean.
Most of the songs on this CD have stories attached to them. “Full Heart Gathering” for instance commemorates my time spent with large groups of mostly hippies gathered in the Arizona desert for the purpose of celebrating life and love. Jasmine & Rose is the musical story of my son’s half-sisters, Ashley and Sara, who I’ve always thought if they were fragrances would be jasmine and rose. And “Gabion” is a great story that involves didgeridoos, toads, and nudity (ask me about that sometime).
If you want a great song to walk down the aisle to at your wedding, take a listen to “I Give You My Love And My Life.”
