Song-A-Week, Week #5
It’s Your Thing
My brother (Phil Maxwell, who’s a fine singer, guitarist, and saxophonist) and I did this version of the classic Isley Brothers hit, It’s Your Thing.
Phil lives in Indiana. I few years ago he came out to visit me in California, and while he was here we recorded this version.
I play the lead sax, Phil plays all the guitar parts. He and I did all the background vocals and saxophones together. I did the rest.
I sampled the intro of the original It’s Your Thing, slowed it down a bit, and transposed it down a whole step for this version.
