EWI: Electronic Wind Instrument
Basically, a synthesizer that you blow into, and fingered like a saxophone.
I used to own one, and will someday again, because for me, as a horn player, it’s so cool to be able to play synthesizer lines and chords. It’s like a great liberation!
So here is the original version of ‘Little Bit ‘O Soul Now’, the version that I’ve always, for some unrecalled reason, thought was the lesser of the two versions. But listening to it now, I think I like it even better than the version on Saxual Healing. What do you think?
On this version I play the whole first part of the song on the EWI - it’s a very sweet sound. And very unlike the tenor sax version that I did later.
